Daisy Bassett
Owner/Operator
Daisy has been grooming passionately for over 20 years. Before opening Dogs By Daisy in Hamilton in 2007 she spent 3 years working in the Etobicoke area making a name for herself as one of the area’s best groomers, specializing in Poodles. She spent many years doing grooming competitions with her poodles and has won and placed in several classes all over Canada and the United States.
Before grooming dogs Daisy worked with horses and continues to do so owning 2 of her own and teaching beginners how to ride dressage. Daisy has her level 2 in Usui Reiki, which she finds she uses a lot in calming the dogs and making their experience positive.
Caitlyn Hearns
Head Groomer
Caitlyn joined Dogs by Daisy in 2013 and has grown along with the business, building a solid connection with the clients and making dogs beautiful. Trained by another excellent local groomer, her specialty is the Pomeranian, owning 3 herself and grooming all the Poms that come into the shop. Caitlyn has accompanied Daisy to many grooming shows and continues to develop her skills and passion for grooming.
Malynda Hamm
Groomer
Malynda has dreamed of becoming a dog groomer since getting her Cocker Spaniel Nicko over 13 years ago. Malynda has been with Dogs by Daisy since 2021, coming on board with a passion to learn how to groom. She started as a bather and quickly moved up the ranks to the amazing groomer she is today, trained exclusively at Dogs by Daisy. In her spare time Malynda enjoys hiking with friends, enjoying a good movie and spending time with her family.
James Crothswaite
Bather Extraordinaire
Joining Dogs by Daisy in 2020, James brought a lot to the table having extensive experience bathing dogs at a busy downtown Toronto grooming salon. He started at an extremely busy time post lockdown when the business tried to accommodate as many dogs in need of grooming as we could and he stepped up to the challenge and has been going strong ever since. In his free time James and his partner breed exotic birds and also have a dog and several rabbits.
